TRAINING TODAY, the 24th of july 2010, was awesome.  seriously.  WOOOTS.  why? 

cause..  there were less than five juniors. we did the same drills as seniors, and we got senior training.  there were SO MANY SPARTANS today.  awesomeee.  xD     

heyy, for a junior, training and playing with a senior is fantastic okay.  not the usual junior training you get. it's differentttt.  one word.  NICE.

but for the seniors, a bunch of juniors dragging and slowing you down during training, giving blind passes and shots off target is well.. pretty much not the most wanted thing. *shrugs. 

anyways, i have to thank ee liang and kam pou for being great teammates. it was cool playing against the seniors.  experience?  totally there.  training was goood.  i enjoyed myself thumbs up!

now why am i so enthusiastic?  causee... 

-the joy of being in ming hwee's car talking crappy stuff (and not so crappy stuff) with him was rekindled.  :D
-we had 'FORUM HARI INI' during lunch.  LOL
-there were alot spartans. more than i've ever seen before. (Y)    even sharron and our two junior goalies were there!

AND, i did better (i feel) compared to how i played yesterday. my performance during school training yesterday was not impressive AT ALL.  so today kinda made me feel better.  :D

so yeah.  that was the awesome awesome (probably the awesomest) training i've had so far.   
so many SPARTANS.  WHOA.

Training today was awesome as usual and i couldn't resist blogging 'bout today before going on with the scheduled posts. BAHH.

DAYS WITH FLOORBALL ARE ALWAYS AWESOME.  

anyways. training was held at pbsm. 9.30 - 1.00.  BUT, as usual, we arrived.... LATE.  xD  
listened to weird songs while having our usual LOUD conversations in aso's car.
good times.  :D

we had passing and push-ups at first.  no more sprint, cross leg, back-track, push-up, defend and lunge.  it was more towards technical stuff. then we had some defender attacker steering drill.  :)   girls partner with girls.  as usual, either sonia or pei.  :D
wonder what will happen when there's only one girl during training.  hm.

had the two attackers on one defender drill. and the juniors got taught how to do run-passes.  *they're called play-ups, no?   whatev.  

game time.  being excited to revive our oh-so-dead FFC blog, i was lent sonia's 8 megapixel camera phone to take shots of training.  ohthatwasfun.  :)

played with the seniors occasionally. (ohthatwasfuntoo!)   they did killers HAH.  :P

selepas the official ffc training for today, some of us practised shots.  YES, i practised wrist shots again.  gotta get the feel which i'm not getting yet.  haha.  

went to makan near rgbc after putting back the goal posts.  TRISTAN JAMES.  better WATCH OUT.  the NEXT TIME.  that mermaid / hippo ah.  mulut tak habis habis.  LOL.    gossiped AS USUAL.  xD

got home, rushed and headed to church for yp. alan was talking about purity.
pure ==>  unblemished, clean, undefiled. etc.    you geddit lah.   we played frisbee today. but it started to rain so BLEHH.  

world cup today. second day weii.  let's see.. i'm supporting:..

spain, brazil, argentina, italy, france, england and maybe protugal.  :D

Honestly, I gotta admit, that I SUPER LOVE FLOORBALL NOW. all this time, I've been waiting for this.  For this unquenchable thirst and hunger for the game. 

But, this craze is partially due to the awesome people in floorball lah. i gotta tell you that 

the FLOORBALL FAMILY IS AWESOME!  

So to those in floorball, i wanna thank you guys for making it such an amazing and meaningful sport to me.  :D

admitted. i've been selfish all this while. yes, there were times when i thought it was pointless. like there was no need. i didn't see the whole picture. it's slowly sinking in. i'm trying, gasping for every bit of awareness. that will open my eyes.

i'm praying God will touch me through floorball, like never before.  that a huge revelation will come to me. that i will know my purpose, and when i play, i know what i'm playing for. why i'm there.  and i'll stand CONVICTED.  

i watched glee, and suddenly realised, when you have feet that can stand by themselves and that function properly,  no matter how much you take them for granted, they WORK.  imagine if your feet couldn't function at all.  and you're in a wheelchair. 

i'd stare and regrets will flood me everytime i'm watching a match. cuz i wish i could be there again on court. playing just like the rest.  i'd regret not giving my best, 110% on court when i had the chance.  wouldn't you feel the same?

you may not have the fastest or swiftest or most well-positioned legs ..

but if you give your 110%,  

that could be all the legs you need. 

thank you aso.  thank you so much for all you've done so far.  i've realised how much i've dissapointed the people that put so much effort in this.  regrets hit me hard. 

i'm trying and it hurts. real bad.

woke up at 5 sumthing in the morning?  couldn't get back to sleep.  hmm.  so i texted ahem to ask how prefects camp was so far.  then he ran out of credit?  o.o

so yeah.  waited for aso till 9 o'clock.  yes, ming hwee the ever early.  got to pbsm and started training.  we did SBS.  go figure.  :P

ten minutes into training, i got banged by kyle.  LOL.  got scratches all.  feels like a bruise.  ah well.  i still love kyle.  HAHAH.

then we did three on three. FARNEY weih.  tristan dunno how to hormat girls wan.  keep whacking people.  TSK. 

THEN we did power play.  four on two.  but skola cina changed it to three on two.  and we got pwned by tristan and murugesu.  they are good.  kids yang amat berpotensi.  :)

had some discussion after that outside while fireBRANDS used the hall for their training.  saw beverly there.  the prettiest she-man-est girl.  =D

after ky was satisfied, we went to makan.  ky, mikey, algin and me.  ate at that place opposite shang-wu school. the sukpen place.  :D    awesome.  
it was quiet and all.  until suddenly, SUDDENLY, kuan yang  started lifting his one dollar bills to the light,  examining them.  hahahaaaa.  so i started laughing la. FUNNY OKAY.  then  he turned and asked sternly, " eh why just now so muka masam, now can laugh wan?  "     O.O

**note to ky:  eh, people not talking and concentrating on food is not called muka masam okayyy.  =P

after we makan-ed, we sent algin home. next stop was mikey's ..  but we got stuck in traffic jam.  
" wahh, it took us 14 minutes just to get down here from the bridge. "   XD

ky was as usual, playing his korean girl songs as background music. you could hardly hear it.
we got talking about floorball and football and then it was silent.  and i went
" eh, you don't listen to radio ah?  mind if i change? " (coz i don't exactly fancy whiny songs, all sounding the same. and i don't even understand them.)

ky bagi green light, so i switched. first he put light fm.  *snores*
so i changed it lah.  fly fm is waaay better and more familiar.  :D
THEN THEN THEN right, you could hear some sound coming from the back seat. humming. and occasional singing.  xD      ahem.

some avril song came on, (and since avril has those sopy korean girl type of songs, the type ky likes, he obviously knew the song)   he started humming to it too.  then all of a sudden all three of us were somehow singing to the song.  farney i tell you.  coz why?
coz i never knew mikey or kuan yang could sing. or were actually musically inclined.  awesome weih.

after being stuck in jam for close to an hour (although it didn't feel like it), we dropped mikey off and headed to my place.  oh did i mention?  i got some dude's last year's jersey.  LOGAN.  LOL.  they're huge, both the pants and top.  the pants is like XXL or sumth.   wear to sleep?  xD   kiddingggg. kuan yang don't kill me if you see this.

bathed, then went for youth.  movie day.  so we watched this movie called ' Come What May'    i loved it.  although there was alot of intelligent conversation, the content and main ideas were touching and so real.

Go watch it.  *thumbs up.

So that was my awesome day.  what did i get from it?  a bruised cheek (ilovekyle),  lower body muscle ache (what with all the bending and getting up),  some shockalingam (i still can't believe they sing)  and thoughts from a good movie.

100th post of this blog .. dedicated to 300.  (:

so i am now an official FRONTLINER (last time unofficial frontliner)  after months years of bugging from pei li. and... it is great being a part of the frontliner family.

Balik Pulau stadium ..  is big. that's what everyone keeps telling me. it's a full-length court. yes sonia, 40m x 20m.  so don't expect to tahan for long on the battlefield, without starting to pant and feel your muscles work.   and by panting i mean panting very HEAVILY.  

reached B.P stadium late.  thanks to unforeseen or foreseen circumstances. :D  
300 was already doing passes, then stretching and warm-ups.  we had some light 'drills', helping our goalie get used to the surroundings.

there we were. at the first PFL div. II  match of the season. the much anticipated,

FRONTLINERS vs. FIREBRANDS.  epic, no? 

after our very semangat spartan cheer lead by assistant coach michael, it was time.  a little confidence boost and line one was on the court, on the battleground.  two minutes seconds into the game, vincent lim, a firebrands player got sent off. two minutes, for wearing white shorts. not uniform they say.   :O

line two then went in, the usual routine.  frontliners 300 managed to hold firebrands in the first half of the match at 1-0.  something they were very proud of. an achievement, obviously.  but as coach kuan yang reminded us, the battle was not over yet. and he was right. 

in the second half. it was obvious that 300 was getting tired. physically.  and for some, mentally.  it was a challenge persevering on court, hearing your leaders giving orders, with stern and unimpressed looks on their faces. a few mistakes, and more goals were conceded. fortunately two weren't counted.  300 was pushed to their limits, and pushed hard they were.  even so, kyle and tristan showed excellent spirit, running after every ball, upping their game.  the others were trying their best, applying what they had been trained as much as they could in the match.

" stick to the formation! "  
" fall back! FALL BACK! "
" go up GO UP! "

" where are you supposed to be zoe?  WHERE IS YOUR POSITION? "   was ringing in my ears. each time i looked at ky's face and heard his voice, telling me to run for the ball,  it gave me reason, reason to run, to hope, to give my 110% on court.  not to fail the team.  

new as i was, with whatever little experience i had, i hadn't been exposed to the formation before. i wasn't exactly sure of what my role was or what my positions were. i was technically, tactically and physically weak.  i followed blindly, running unnecessarily and getting furiously frustrated.

despite all that, i gave my best. played my heart out,  reminding myself of how spartans were supposed to play. how they were supposed to go on; against all odds, not giving up no matter what the circumstances were. 

finally, when the last whistle blew we breathed a sigh of relief, but for me it was more of anguish. we hadn't won.  not that we had lost, NO. the war wasn't over.  just that we hadn't won.  going back on the court, shaking our opponents' hands, deep down inside, it felt good, but at the same time it was dissapointing. hearing ray gan's voice, thanking firebrands for a good game, it was a great picture of sportsmanship.  it taught me  sportsmanship.  it's not just about the game. the post-match counts.  crediting your opponents for their good play. it's all well DESERVED.

quickly collecting our scattered stuff, we headed outside for debriefing.  coach gave us his view of the match.  told us our weak points and flaws.  despite all the hoo-ha, man of the match went on. and our MoM was none other than omprekash, our GK.  he the man!  :D
and the special once-in-a-lifetime award went to miss sonia frances gopal (3/4 indian, 1/4 chinese ..  i dunno where the 'frances' came from though), who turned seventeen that day!  happy 17th birthday sonia!  hope you had a great one.   

being me, i wasn't really satisfied with my performance. you might say, know your limits.  i think i quite do.  and that certainly wasnt my best.  

those who followed ming hwee left earlier, while the rest of us, proceeded back to the stadium to watch the first half of spearheards against trailblazers.  alot of confidence, spearhead showed.  especially, their GK syahmie, who sempat pose in front of goal post sumore.  XD

so that was it.  my first no wait, second big match.  interesting?  i would say so. beneficial, definitely.  it tests your mental fitness,  it definitely tested mine.  

i bet everybody gained something from the first match. the worst is over.  the outcome?  4-0.  an achievement, i would conclude.
 we'll be working our butt off for the next matches.  300 can definitely do better with more training, a little bit more respect to the coaches and kuat-er mental.   i promise i'll be giving my best.
